田二社区在汕头市潮南区陇田镇东南部，背靠大南山，朝向大海，原是田心村的一部分。创村于南宋端平年间（1234—1236年），陈氏祖先从潮阳县城迁来。[1]
名称与历史[edit]
此地东临南海，地势低，溪水弯曲如「心」字，旧称心溪；清康熙年间因周围良田改称田心，后分成田一、田二、田三、田四。田二明、清至民国初年属惠来县大坭都，1921年属田心乡（南阳乡）；1983年称田二乡，1986年设居委会，1992年称管理区，1999年恢复居委会。[1]

全社区1214户，6367人，其中党员75人；水田675亩，旱地仅80亩。居民以务农为主，青壮年多外出务工；社区内有本地居民私办的企业21家（多做塑料扁丝），外来企业3家，较大的是一家水泥灌桩厂。[1][2]
