陈围社区在324国道以南，紧靠陈店镇镇区，明洪武三十一年（1398年）由陈氏自福建莆田迁来立寨，称陈厝围。[1]社区属革命老区，542户、3405人，面积0.836平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

陈氏祖先从莆田到此建寨，故名“陈厝围”，简称陈围。[1]1950年隶属六禾四乡，到1958年公社化，称陈围大队，1983年起称陈围乡，1986年起改居委会，1992年改归柯围管理区，1999年又恢复居委会。[1]

经济与社会[edit]

居民有陈、林两姓，耕地316亩，种水稻和甘薯。[1]改革开放后主要生产内衣服装、电子电器，1994年办起工业城，辖区内建筑企业共39家，小作坊计85家，并有肉菜市场。[1]2009年汕头市一家房地产公司在辖区建成“雍景豪庭”住宅区。[1]

2026年1月，陈围社区被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
