历史沿革[edit]
村在牛草渡的南岸，因此称牛草渡村，后改今名。[1]1950年隶属浮草乡，到1958年公社化，称浮草大队，1983年起属洋新乡，1986年起改村委会，1992年改归洋新管理区，1999年又恢复村委会。[1]
经济与社会[edit]
耕地211亩，种水稻、甘薯；历史上做石料加工和水上运输。[1]改革开放后发展文胸内衣和电子电器，现有小作坊23家，部分村民在广州、深圳做电子元件贸易。[1]1991年新建学校；同年陈店镇与贵屿镇联合建成浮草大桥，沟通练江南北。[1]
浮草村2017年10月获第一批广东省卫生村称号，2020年至2022年连续上榜淘宝村名单。[1]
