历史沿革[edit]
新溪西姓张，明洪武十八年（1385年）立寨；所辖洋西村姓黄，明洪武三年（1370年）创立。[1]1950年隶属其吕一乡，到1958年公社化，称新溪西大队，1983年起称新溪西乡，1986年起改村委会，1992年起称管理区，1999年又恢复村委会。[1]
经济与社会[edit]
耕地855亩，主要种水稻、甘薯，传统上有米糖加工和生猪养殖。[1]改革开放后以文胸内衣和塑料制品为主，建筑企业共3家，小作坊计103家。[1]1979年建南港桥闸，1996年台胞张开茂捐资建村办公楼，2008年易地新建学校。[1]
该村2020年9月、2021年10月、2022年10月连续上榜淘宝村名单。[1]
