定安社区在陈店镇集镇中心，管辖镇区的非农业人口，因圩市老街“定安”而得名。[1]面积0.562平方千米，登记2481户，合计8131人。[1]

沿革[edit]

新中国成立后这里先成立工商联，1956年设陈店居委，1984年陈店设镇（乡级）；1987年成立居民委员会，取圩市老街名“定安”命名。[1]明、清至民国初年属潮阳县洋乌都，1921年划归第九区；到1958年公社化，称定安大队，1992年起称管理区，1999年又恢复居委会。[1]

社区地处旧八中校园一带，另据博雅地名网，“定安”寓意居民安定团结。[1]

经济[edit]

辖区内建筑企业共2家，小作坊计12家，产品主要是文胸内衣和电子电器；1990年建成教学楼1幢。[1]
