文光社区在陈店镇南部，北靠324国道，陈仙公路和陈沙公路从境内通过。[1]全社区一姓陈，下辖木斗坛、下寨、长房三个自然村，2102户、12324人，面积4.426平方千米。[1]

地名与历史[edit]

据记载，元至正年间（1341—1368年）陈玉川从潮阳县城的石笔砚迁来创业；因地处大南山的隘口，最初叫“山门”。[1]明末寨门上题“善闻乡”三字，称善闻乡；1950年改名闻光，后来因“闻”与“文”在潮汕话里读音相近，写成文光。[1]另一处记载称祖先于元至正年间自福建莆田迁居此地。[1]

1958年公社化后分属文一、文二、文三大队，1983年三队合并称文光乡，1986年起改设居委会，1992年起称管理区，1999年又恢复居委会。[1]

经济与社会[edit]

耕地2154亩，山地约3000亩；农业种水稻、甘薯、大豆、花生、小麦，山地栽果树。[1]改革开放后以文胸内衣及其配件生产为主，建筑企业共17家，小作坊计361家，一部分村民在深圳、广州、北京等地经商，也有人做电子元件生意。[1]辖区内设有文光小学、另建了4所老年人活动中心；陈店中学、侨联以及电信、邮政部门都在这片辖区内。[1]

2023年5月，该社区获广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予“2022年广东省卫生村”称号。[1]
