乌石村属广州市增城区中新镇，是镇辖的行政村。博雅地名网所载村情记其面积10平方千米，耕地约2700亩，户籍人口2482人，流动人口78人，下辖5个自然村、19个村民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名来自一块大乌石：相传村里旧祠堂内原有一块乌石，村因此得名。[1]

乌石的先民在宋朝时从毛村迁来，据村情已有约900年。1952年为福和区下的乌石乡，解放初期则属新三区；1958年公社化后并入中新公社的中新大队，1962年从中新大队分出，成为乌石大队。1983年改称乡，1987年起设乌石村委会，属中新镇。[1]

经济与设施[edit]

村民大多以耕作为生，村内设有篮球场4个（其中一个为灯光球场）、舞台、图书阅览室和卫生站。[1]

  • 广东省卫生村（2017年10月由省爱卫会授予，属第一批）。[1]
