霞迳村属广州市增城区中新镇，是镇辖的行政村。博雅地名网所载村情记其面积1.5平方千米，耕地约1600亩，户籍人口809人（168户），下辖2个自然村、4个村民小组。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

客家话里“吓迳”指地势低洼、积水难排，“吓”谐音写作“霞”，村名即由此而来。^[1]

霞迳的村民于1166年迁来建村。1956年和1957年先后办起初级社、高级社；1958年公社化后，村在中新公社下设霞迳大队；1983年改称乡，1987年设村民委员会，属中新镇至今。^[1]

2009年村委办公大楼和周边绿化景区建成，村里另设有综合球场、乒乓球台和休闲绿化区。^[1]

百度百科记载，霞迳在2010年被定为广州市社会主义新农村试点村，次年又成为增城市村容村貌整治示范村；村里利用古樟树林和鱼塘建成公共休憩空间，并通过土地流转发展现代农业，辖区内有9家企业提供就业岗位。^[2]
