历史沿革[edit]
街道得名于辖区内一条弯曲似龙形的小溪。[2]古时设有龙溪圩。[1]1958年在此建龙溪人民公社，1983年撤社设区，后来撤区建镇，定名龙溪镇；据百度百科建镇在1986年冬，据博雅地名网在1986年1月起。[1][3]2017年12月，龙溪镇改设龙溪街道办事处。[1]截至2020年6月，下辖龙溪、苏村、礼村3个社区和20个行政村。[1]
地理环境[edit]
街道在博罗县南部、东江之滨，东邻罗阳街道义和一带，西接龙华镇和园洲镇，北靠太平山，南面隔着东江，对岸是东莞市的桥头镇、企石镇和仲恺高新区的潼湖镇。[1]据博雅地名网，辖区绝大部分为平原，年平均气温21.9℃，年降雨量1890毫米，镇内有龙岗岭、大平山、乌石岭等山岭。[3]

2019年全街道生产总值为57.45亿元，同比增长1.3%，三次产业分别为5亿元、44.21亿元和14.69亿元；财政收入1.43亿元，完成固定资产投资20.50亿元。[1]博雅地名网称这里产荔枝、龙眼、香蕉，并称其为全国发展和改革试点小城镇、惠州市中心镇。[3]
文化[edit]
百度百科记载，辖区内客家、潮州、广府等文化交融，民间有“点灯”“做会”等宗族活动，以及舞麒麟等传统技艺。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
银岗古窑场遗址在银岗村，是西周至战国时期的制陶作坊遗址，2002年7月公布为广东省文物保护单位，详见银岗村条目。[4]博雅地名网称，1997年考古发掘的这处遗址证实龙溪是缚娄国的发源地，这一说法仅见于该网。[3]
