石根村是广东省茂名市信宜市朱砂镇（位于镇的北部）的行政村。据博雅地名网所载，村下设18个村民小组，在册678户、2556人，全村总面积6.07平方千米，耕地1058亩^[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历，据博雅地名网所载：村子正好坐落在高耸入云的石根山脚，因而得名。^[1]

民国时期设石根堡，辖石根、旺科、平寨、白土、莲塘、溪兰各地。解放后改设石根乡，统辖石根、旺科、平寨三地，1977年再分为三个大队。1983年改称乡，1987年设村民委员会，1999年定名石根村民委员会，沿用至今。^[1]

村里主要种植水稻、木薯、马铃薯、蕃薯；特色收入来源有养殖三黄鸡^[1]。

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会将石根村列入「2022年广东省卫生村」。2019年12月，石根村入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单。2019年9月，石根村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。^[1]

石根山风景旅游区位于石根村与广西岑溪市水汶镇的交界处，山属云开山脉，是村名所指的石根山所在。景区2021年8月获评「国家3A级」旅游景区，主峰海拔988米^[2]；博雅地名网则写作998米^[3]。景区的情况见朱砂镇条。
