东山村是潮安区归湖镇下辖的行政村，位于乡政府东南约2公里处。它东面与文祠镇交界，北面与东明村接壤，西北面与白藤坑村毗邻。村内有竹全坑、东光、蟹地、山竹坑等自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年公社化时，此地原属白腾坑大队。1974年，由所属的「东光」「金山」两村各取一字，定名「东山大队」；1999年改称东山村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[1]

姓氏宗族[edit]

竹全坑一带的文氏原居凤凰下埔，清道光年间迁到这里，村名取自村前一条坑两旁遍生的竹子。东光村又称白叶沿，文氏居民在清道光时由大沿村搬来，位于凤凰溪东南。蟹地村姓吴，清乾隆末年从凤凰陂坑迁来，村前地形似蟹，故名。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年9月，东山村列入第二批广东省农业农村厅公布的「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产业为沉香叶茶。2023年5月，广东省爱卫会将「2022年广东省卫生村」的称号授予本村。[1]
