1961年，此地设为乌石生产大队；1979年改称乌石乡社，划归三山公社；1983年设乡级政府，1987年撤乡后改为管理区。1999年设立村委会，2003年三山镇并入新洲镇，该村随之归新洲镇管辖[1]。

2022年1月，该村被认定为2021年广东省「乡村治理示范村」创建单位，由省乡村振兴部门确定[1]。
