平田村是阳东区新洲镇下辖的行政村[1]。
1957年设福平乡，隶属大沟人民公社。1979年，新洲公社划出三山公社，原福平大队分成福杨与平田两个大队，平田一支仍留在新洲公社。1983年平田改设乡级政府，1987年改为管理区，1999年设立村委会[1]。
2021年12月，丰木咀、平安新村两地在阳江市卫生村评选中入选，时为2021年度[1]。
