北股村是阳东区新洲镇下辖的行政村[1]。
北股村的村名历经变动：清末民国初起沿用北股之名直至1966年，「文革」时期改为红卫大队，村名复原后于1999年改设村委会[1]。
禾叉坳山庄在村北约2公里，庄内一座客家土楼古宅占地约5000平方米，为6巷7幢并列对称的连房布局。现存建筑大体为清代光绪年间所建，前排数幢已改为两层砖木房屋[2][3]。
2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年9月，又入选第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产业为冬瓜[1]。
