新兴村在陆丰市甲东镇最南面，面积约9平方千米，辖3个村民小组，距镇政府6千米，丘陵地带，对外只有一条公路。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清乾隆元年（1746年），蔡姓的先人来此立村。土地改革时设新兴乡，属甲子镇；1958年改新兴大队，归甲东公社；1983年复称新兴乡，属甲东区；1987年改村委会，隶甲东镇；1994年称管理区，1999年复称村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里地质较差，港湾浅，渔业以传统作业和海滩野生资源为主。农业多种番薯和杂粮，不足的部分靠浅海作业“以渔养农”。[1]

荣誉[edit]

新兴村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」（2019年9月公布）；又名列2024年3月命名的「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
