地名由来与历史沿革[edit]

全村房屋坐西朝东，清晨立于门楼前，可见日出东方、红光四射，村名取意于此。[1]

村级建制的变迁：1949年建有红光乡，1958年变为红光人民公社下的红光大队，1989年叫作红光管理区，1999年起为红光村民委员会。[1]
