红卫社区是梅州市丰顺县汤坑镇设置的社区居民委员会，位于汤坑镇城区[1]。社区名称的来历：前身是寨内居委会，解放后一度叫红卫村；县政府批准设立时在1976年，沿用红卫之名[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

明万历戊午年（1618年）的亚魁、官至温州推官的本邑人化鹏（博雅地名网的两处文字分别写作何化鹏和柯化鹏）在明末战乱时率乡人修筑城寨，称金汤寨，又叫柯屋寨；因寨建在瓜形地上，也称瓜屋寨。寨中开有一条十字街，设东西南北四座城门，门上石匾分别刻「屹若长城」「飞泉玉露」「两观明月」「蝴蝶双飞」[3]。解放后，这一带称寨内居委会，到1976年4月，名称定为红卫社区居民委员会，此后未变[3]。
