清湖村是高州市大坡镇的行政村，村名与村口一处水深而清的大水湾有关，2021年被评为广东省卫生村。[1]

名称由来[edit]

据博雅地名网所述，李姓人家来此定居，村口有一处水深见底的深湾，湾边建了深湖庙，后来庙改称清湖庙，村子也以清湖为名。该页沿革部分另一种解释是：此地有个很大的水湾，水深而清，像一面湖，所以叫清湖。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1957年至1959年间归大坡管区；1960年起另有清湖、枚子垌两个大队，到1963年合并成清湖大队。1983年起叫清湖乡，1986年起叫农村管理区，1999年起由清湖村民委员会管理。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号，2019年9月进入2018年度省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
