红卫社区是硇洲镇下辖的社区，前身是红卫渔业生产大队，社区名由此而来[1][2]。1987年从原淡水镇分出，设居民委员会[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

最初是1958年11月成立的罟帆渔业生产大队，1966年12月起叫红卫大队。1987年5月改设红卫社区居民委员会；之后的称呼是红卫管理区（1990年）和红卫社区居委会（1998年），延续至今[2]。据博雅地名网的淡水社区条目，1987年淡水镇拆分为淡水、红卫两个居民委员会[3]。
