历史沿革[edit]
北港乡设于1952年；1958年被拆成港西、港东、港南、红星4个大队，1983年4队重新合并，恢复北港乡的名称，下有15个自然村。此后改过几次：北港村委会（1987年）、北港管理区（1990年）、北港村民委员会（1998年），现名沿用至今[1]。
北港渔港[edit]
北港位于硇洲岛西北部，清道光八年（1828年）开港，曾是雷州半岛规模最大的渔港；进入1970年代，岛上的渔港建设转向西南部的南港[2]。
2019年9月，北港村进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」的名单[1]。
