历史沿革[edit]
淡水最早是1952年成立的淡水乡，四年后成为淡水大队，到1983年称淡水镇。1987年，原淡水镇的辖地分成淡水、红卫两个社区居民委员会；1990年起叫淡水管理区，1998年改叫淡水社区居委会，名称沿用至今[2]。
1898年7月，法军在硇洲岛登陆并夺取淡水炮台；1900年，淡水一带又被定为法属广州湾范围内硇洲、东海两岛的行政中心[3]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，淡水社区进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」的名单[2]。
