历史沿革[edit]
南港乡成立于1983年，1986年划成南港、南海、五星3个大队，第二年又合起来设南港管理区；1998年起叫南港村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
南港渔港[edit]
自1970年代起，岛上渔港的发展重点由西北的北港移到西南的南港，南港在2007年成为国家级中心渔港[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2022年9月被认定为2022年湛江市文明村；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
