地名由来[edit]

一条溪水从本地后部流过，村委会因而称后溪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代归古博都，民国时期属第十区红花乡，新中国成立后属八区后溪乡。1961年属水口公社，1981年称后溪大队。1984年属水口区，称后溪乡人民政府，1989年称后溪管理区，1993年起属开平市水口镇，1999年定名后溪村民委员会。[1]

著名人物[edit]

谭国标（1910年—1934年）出生于后溪村委会辖下的水口园村，13岁考入广东省立广雅中学，1925年加入共青团，后入中山大学预科。他1929年赴日本东京留学，1931年回国，1933年任中国左翼文化总同盟广州分盟组织部部长；1934年1月被捕，同年8月1日在广州红花岗就义，时年24岁。[2][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

谭国标故居在水口园村，建于清末，为「两进三路」的青砖瓦顶建筑，另有一座三层碉楼式书舍。2022年8月，它被命名为第一批开平市党员教育基地。[1][3]

经济[edit]

后溪村「工改工」项目把村级工业用地改建为新厂房，镇政府2025年称项目实施后村集体年收益预计增长近三倍，2026年的镇简介说它已基本完工，进入装修和招商阶段。该村2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1][4][5]
