地名由来[edit]
「文革」期间，原水口居民委员会把大兴东、大兴西、银龙路并为一街，称人民路，居委会随之改名人民社区居民委员会。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归古博都，民国时期属第十区红花乡。新中国成立后属八区人民乡，1961年成为水口公社的人民大队；人民社区居民委员会这一名称自1999年起使用。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
社区境内有两处江门市第二批文物保护单位，均于2000年10月31日公布：溯源家塾在中山东路96号，建于清道光二十六年（1846年）；开平黄氏大宗祠在银江里红花路13号，建于清顺治元年（1644年）。[1]
