后溪村在隆都镇中部，店市东侧，明洪武二年（1369年）创村，全村金姓。[1][3]村子在历史上位于前溪许之后，旁有一条小河，原是后溪港，港口淤塞后渐成村落，因而得名。[2]村里的祖姑祠是汕头市文物保护单位。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据维基百科所载族谱，金姓始祖金民钦在洪武二年到潮州任职，后裔繁衍，在后溪单姓立村。[3]此地起初隶海阳县，明成化十三年（1477年）改隶饶平县隆眼城都。[1]
1949年10月划入澄海县隆都区；1952年与前溪许并为后溪乡；1956年与前美、后埔两乡及店市镇合称店市乡；1959年设后溪生产大队；1984年1月设后溪乡；1986年11月撤区置镇，设后溪村。[1]
经济[edit]
据村情资料，后溪有住户1700多户、近7000人，耕地约1300亩，种水稻、番石榴、蔬菜，工业以小作坊手工业为主；侨胞捐建了学校和自来水厂各一座。[1]2009年人均收入3500元，其中工业产值4200万元、农业产值2112万元，并被评为区「生态文明村」、市「生态示范村」。[1]
2020年8月，后溪以红桃入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2020年至2022年连续三年入选「淘宝村」；2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
金氏祖姑祠建于明代，汕头市于2010年3月22日将其列入市级文保单位（第四批）。[1]
