地名由来[edit]
在龙塘洞一带的几个村委会中，它位置最靠东，故名龙东。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归登名都，民国时期属第十区龙塘乡，新中国成立后属八区龙东乡，1955年属水口区龙塘乡。1963年属水口公社，称龙东大队。1984年改称龙东乡人民政府，1989年称龙东管理区；1993年随沙冈区另置，1999年定名龙东村民委员会，2005年沙冈并入水口镇后属水口镇。[1]
