建村时寓意新时代、新风尚，故名新风。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归古博都，民国时期属第十区月山乡，新中国成立后属八区。1961年属水口公社，1974年设新风大队，1984年改称新风乡人民政府，1989年称新风管理区，1993年起属开平市水口镇，1999年定名新风村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
新风村在2020年至2022年连续三年列入淘宝村名单，2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
