北洋村在汕头市潮南区陇田镇沙陇片区的东边，一侧是南埔村，另一侧是溪尾村。此地原为草滩，溪港交错，形似一片树叶，叫叶洋；村子在叶洋以北，所以称北洋。创村于清咸丰十一年（1861年）。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

北洋有黄、王两姓。黄氏先祖原迁惠来周田乡，再迁成田宁湖村，后裔分迁北洋；王氏先祖在明嘉靖年间由福建迁成田旧寮，再迁此地。茆溪北大队于1975年拆分，北洋自成一队；1983年划归茆港乡，1986年设村委会。[1]

概况[edit]

全村246户、1398人，耕地290多亩，种水稻和甘薯，有5家袜厂，吸纳部分家庭妇女就业。2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单（2019年9月公布）里有北洋村。[1]
