练南村在汕头市潮南区峡山街道东部，练江南岸，辖5个自然村，东与和平镇、胪岗镇交界，因地处练江中游南岸得名。主村石美，古称“石母岐”“石尾岐”。2020至2022年上榜淘宝村名单。[1][2]

相传北宋宣和二年（1120年），僧人大峰祖师在北山取石建和平大桥，运石时有石块遗落此处，村名由此而来。主村石美的刘氏祖先刘则和于明洪武七年（1374年）从兴仁乡桂花篮（在今普宁市境内）迁来。[2]

现状[edit]

全村1566户、8726人，面积2646亩，耕地1522亩。2009年农民人均年收入3862元，工农业总产值5605万元。工业小区有15家企业，做制衣、化妆品、毛织、文胸；农业以生柑、香蕉、荔枝、蔬菜和水稻为主。[2]
