南里社区在汕头市潮南区峡山街道东北面，居民的祖先是郑光阳（号棉岭），明正统年间（1436—1449年）自金浦乡来此垦荒，故村旧称“蓝田”，又作“南田”。后南港、仁让里两个自然村并入，定名南里。[1]

地名与现状[edit]

村寨在塔山北麓凤泉岩之前，又叫“岩前”，谐音“南前”，转为南里。[1]

社区1505户、8770人，辖区906亩，有企业97家、小档口二百多个，做服装、织布、化妆品；南里棉岭学校占地57942平方米，还有幼儿园三所和外来工子弟学校一所，凤泉岩庙宇活动中心是居民活动的场所。[1]
