华光是广东省汕头市潮阳区谷饶镇的一个社区，位于镇的南部，旧称“赤寮下家”或“赤寮下堡”，俗称华里乡，博雅地名网称其为谷饶张氏的发祥地。[1][2]据载明洪武年间（1368年至1398年）创村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，明洪武年间祖先到此创村，聚落分为上堡、华里、茂广等处，华里一带称“赤寮下家”。[1]该页还解释，此地原先缺水干旱，赤地一片，故叫赤寮村；清末兴修水利、农业发展后，赤寮改称谷饶，华光一带也随之叫谷饶下家。[1][2]新中国成立后定名华里乡，因潮阳县内有多处叫华里，县政府于1980年改名华光。[1]此后名称几经更替，1999年起沿用现名。[1]

经济[edit]

1978年以前，村民以务农为主，种水稻、番薯、蔬菜等，以蔬菜最突出，工副业有抽纱，也有人做杉木买卖。[2]据该页所述，80年代初村民在镇内办起第一家内衣外资加工厂，此后民营经济迅速发展，全社区以针织内衣为主业，经营主体合计400多个，民营企业与家庭作坊各约200个。[2]页面列出的商标有“今尚儿”“奥丝蓝黛”“芬芳王”，其中前两个获广东省著名商标等称号，“芬芳王”获广东省著名商标和“中国著名品牌”称号。[2]

基础设施[edit]

社区地势低，雨后易涝，建有排涝泵站两座和应急排涝发电站一座；自筹资金建起占地30多亩、可容纳4000名学生的教学楼4幢，主要道路已全部硬化并装有路灯。[2]
