历史沿革[edit]
村的开基时间，博雅地名网的两页说法不一：概况一页称先人于南宋末年从福建莆田迁来定居；沿革一页则称明弘治年间（1487年至1505年），祖先从谷饶村（古称赤寮乡）迁此，起名溪尾村。[1][2]此后名称几经更替，先后称大队、乡、村委会、管理区，1999年起沿用现名。[1]2019年9月，溪美村列入「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2018年度）名单。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
该页所载，全村436户、2270人，面积2.64平方千米。[2]90年代以前以农耕为主，兼营副业和渔业；改革开放后，大批村民转入作坊、工厂，村集体经济随之改善。[2]
