西向村隶属广东省广州市从化区鳌头镇，为镇辖行政村，村委会设在镇域西部。[1] 全村面积约3平方公里，村民小组共19个，村委会介绍的总人口为2234人（该介绍未注明年份）。村距从化城区约30公里，距鳌头镇中心镇区约9公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1958年建立西向大队，到1983年12月改设为西向乡，到1987年1月改名西向村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。[1]

村名的来历是建村时的朝向偏西。[1]

荣誉与名单

  • 2019年9月，西向村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
  • 2023年5月，西向村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号（广东省爱卫会）。[1]
  • 2023年8月，西向村获评「2022年度“广州市美丽乡村”」称号。[1]
  • 2024年11月，西向村被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]

村里的农业格局为：水田种水稻、花生，鱼塘里养四大家鱼、塘基上养瘦肉型猪。[1]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的文化遗产普查推荐名单（历史建筑与传统风貌建筑线索）中，列有本村的联胜乡塾，共1处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[2]
