前进村是狮岭镇下辖的行政村，在镇的西北部，是靠近城区的附城村之一，面积约6.7平方公里，有12个经济社。成立农民协会时，取永远向前之意，定名前进。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

前进农民协会建于1950年，6年后改组为前进高级农业合作社。1987年1月设立前进村委会，起初归狮岭区公所管，3月起改归狮岭镇政府。[1]

人口民族[edit]

本地户籍901户、3500多人，外来人口约8000多人（该页未注明年份）。主要姓氏有罗、温、张、王、谢、苏、刘、钟等。[1]

经济[edit]

广清高速和山前大道穿村而过。村以皮革皮具业为主，现有各类企业约300家；村民收入来自自营生意、外出务工和房屋出租。[1]

前进村连续三年（2020至2022年）列入「淘宝村」名单。[1]2023年5月获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2024年11月获认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区」。[1]
