益群村是狮岭镇下辖的行政村，在镇的北部，面积7平方公里，有15个经济社、11个自然村。1952年划小乡时，由工作队、村干部和群众商议命名，取办事有益于群众之意。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1956年起有奇才、大平、东联三个高级社，1958年大平、东联并成益群大队，与奇才大队并立；1963年奇才并入，统称益群大队。1987年1月设立益群村委会，起初归狮岭区公所管，3月起改归狮岭镇政府。村委会原设在合境村，1993年迁到南塘村。^[1]

有885户、3260名户籍居民，党员82名，外来流动人口约1.25万（该页未注明年份）。主要姓氏有吴、潘、胡、黄、朱、陈、肖。^[1]

山前大道、两赤线公路东西向，南航大道南北向，穿过村境。落户村内的皮具、五金加工企业约500家，村民收入主要来自房屋出租、经商和务工。^[1]

益群村连续三年（2020至2022年）列入「淘宝村」名单。^[1]2025年6月获认定为「2024年度广州市级美丽乡村」。^[1]
