中心村是狮岭镇下辖的行政村，在镇的西部，面积5平方公里，有15个经济社。旧时的冯村包括军田、义山、中心、西头、马岭、联星六个村，中心村居其中央，村名由此而来。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

中心农业高级合作社成立于1956年；公社化的1958年，它与黎村的高级社并在一起，改称中心大队。1987年1月设立中心村委会，起初归狮岭区公所管，3月起改归狮岭镇政府。^[1]

户籍人口2980人、812户，另有流动人口约2500人（该页未注明年份）。姓氏较多，有李、宋、何、伍、汤、林、毕、邓、黄、罗、陈等。^[1]

杨赤线经过本村。村集体和村民的收入主要来自出租厂房、商铺和土地，村民另有外出务工、经商等收入。^[1]

中心村连续三年（2020至2022年）列入「淘宝村」名单。^[1]2023年5月获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2024年11月获认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区」。^[1]
