义山村是狮岭镇下辖的行政村，在镇的西南部，位于军田村与中心村之间，面积4平方公里，下辖11个经济社。村名原作「羊儿山」，始祖在形似小羊的山下建村，客家话「儿」「义」读音相近，后来写作义山。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村建于1688年。1949年后简称义山，1987年1月设立义山村委会，起初归狮岭区公所管，3月起改归狮岭镇政府。村委会驻地几经变动，由原来的文武帝宫迁到现在的义山大道南1号。^[1]

博雅地名网称义山村是狮岭镇皮革皮具业的发祥地，上世纪80年代的个体皮具小作坊带动了全镇皮具产业的发展。村中的主要经济是第三产业和农业，落户企业150多家，较大的有4家；有流动人口约4000人。^[1]

义山村连续三年（2020至2022年）列入「淘宝村」名单。^[1]2020年8月列入首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（休闲农业）；2026年1月获认定为「2025年广州市充分就业社区」，并入选「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。^[1]

村中主要姓氏是钟、罗、赖等。^[1]
