历史沿革[edit]
明初这里已有称塞口沙（亦作闸窖）的沙坦，民国时属中山县九区。新中国成立后，村庄先在1950年4月随第十区安平乡改称新益村，再于1953年同新联一村合成新联乡，归第十五区。1958年起单列为新联二大队，其间1961年4月至8月曾由庙贝公社管理。后来先改称乡（1984年），1987年变为现在的行政村，成立村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
1990年全村2917人，耕地5189亩，其中水产养殖1200亩；2001年总人口3098人，耕地（含鱼塘）5620亩。主要作物为水稻、甘蔗、香蕉。[1]
