百度百科的厚街陈屋村条目称，该村在镇区北侧，北面毗邻赤岭村，南面紧挨镇中心，离东莞市区约3公里。全村面积1.98平方千米，户籍人数逾1500，另有外来常住人口约一万，内设四个村民小组。[2]

社区政府网页称，社区规划颇为合理，设施配套较完备，居民淳朴，社会管理和谐。[1]
