大坪社区在东莞东南方，是塘厦镇最西端的山村。西边连着大屏嶂林场，北接龙背岭社区，南面与深圳的黎光村、章阁村接壤。社区分为6个居民小组，有520户；本地1360人，外来居民八千余[1]。

立村[edit]

南宋祥兴二年（1279年），行军都统叶宏避入大屏障山林，后在大屏障脚下（今大坪）搭屋定居，被认为是大坪村和田心村的立村始祖[2]。

交通与经济[edit]

莞深高速在此设有大坪出入口，到深圳市区约半小时车程。林坪路穿过社区，通向观澜湖高尔夫球会和大屏嶂森林公园[1]。

社区内企业80多家，其中三资企业14家，民营企业34家，个体企业32家，形成以毛织、五金、纸品、家具、塑胶和运动器材为主的工业体系。2010年底，社区与居民小组两级集体收入合计1929.5万元，同比增长16%[1]。
