大坪村隶属广东省清远市连南瑶族自治县大坪镇，是全镇的中心村，镇政府驻地即在该村。[1]

村内设十九个村民小组，共1051户4071人（年份未注）。村民以农业为生，种植水稻，并饲养鸡、猪等家禽。[1]

镇里的中心小学与卫生院都设在村内，村中一座小型水电站是村集体收入的主要来源。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历有两种说法：一说因所处地势平坦宽阔，二说因大坪镇驻地设在本村。[1]

村级建制几经变动。1999年才重新设立村民委员会，沿用至今；此前的1989年10月，这里是大坪村管理区。再往前，1983年改为乡级建制，1961年则先成立了生产大队。1987年5月撤区设乡，村名定为大坪村民委员会。[1]

大坪村的荣誉有：2020年12月，入选「第一批广东省少数民族特色村寨」；2022年1月，确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位；2022年10月，经广东省农业农村厅认定为「2022年广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」（优质稻）；2024年3月，被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]

经济[edit]

村内以纯农业为主。水田面积逾2000亩，另有旱地1800多亩、林地1万多亩，山地中大部分为荒山，面积3000多亩。水稻是主要作物。[2]

村集体收入3.8万元，村民人均纯收入则为3098元，两项数字均为2010年的情况。当年全村外出务工的劳动力有1500多人。[1]

规划中的发展方向包括种植有机稻、推广稻田养鱼，并利用山地发展林业。[2]
