历史沿革[edit]

1949年11月设红光行政村，归阳江县六区。1963年撤区并社，转属程村人民公社。1967年起由红光革命委员会管理，1970年改称红光生产大队。[1]

文化[edit]

2020年11月，红光村获「第六届全国文明村镇」称号。2021年度「阳江市卫生村」名单中有大背山村、厚幕山村（2021年12月确定）。2023年11月，红光村入选「广东百千万工程首批典型县镇村」；2024年4月，又进入「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]
