历史沿革[edit]

从前村子四周被竹林环绕，取竹林园之意；村委驻地为竹园自然村，两者合成村名。[3]

1958年为竹园大队，1983年改设竹园乡，1987年为竹园管理区。竹园村委会自1999年由县政府批准设立，名称沿用至今。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年3月，竹园村获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
