新城社区是海丰县公平镇镇区新开发的一片，沿日新路分布，以“新区”得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1994年5月，因服装业快速发展、城镇不断扩张，从原第二居委的辖区中分出一块，新设第五居民委员会，接着2004年10月改称新城社区。[1]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网称，全镇约八成服装企业设在这一社区，工业、商贸与住宅连成一片，是镇上的经济中心和城镇形象所在。辖区有1100多户，人口4730多人。[1]
