历史沿革[edit]
原属红星大队。1974年划出，由青湖、围雅、新围三个自然村组成青围行政村。1958年设公平公社青围大队，接着1964年“四清”时嫌名字不够革命，改称红星大队，随后1984年称青围乡，再后来1987年改村委会，此后1989年改管理区，接着1998年复设村委会。[1]
人口民族[edit]
人口2970人，耕地1789亩，村委会设新围，沿海紫公路呈长块状分布。[1]
经济[edit]
产稻谷、花生，竹器编织是传统副业，不少人在镇区服装厂做工。村里打算在大埔片被征用的10万平方米储备地上建工业园。2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
