新兴村在梅陇镇区南面约5.5公里，面积约1.3平方千米，2010年总人口1720人，种稻谷、番薯、莲藕、茨菇，兼种香蕉，养家禽。[1] 官方名单共列3个自然村，即淡星村（淡水港）、四方乡、新兴。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年属第四区鲘门石南乡，1952年属第三区新寮乡；1980年从新寮大队分出，设新兴大队；1984年称新兴乡，1987年为新兴村委会，1989年设管理区办事处，1998年复设村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，新兴村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
