得名[edit]

石南村由石锅陂肚里、南山下两个大村合称而来，新中国成立后改名新南。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时叫横石卒；新中国成立后，村称石南，又办起新南农业社；1958年人民公社化时归信东大队，1976年大队缩小，新南另立大队；1984年称乡，1989年设管理区，1999年改为村民委员会。[3]
