村名来自地形：山高坑长，水流也长。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1960年叫高声大队，1975年改称高坑大队；1984至1987年为高坑乡，1987年起设管理区，1999年改为村民委员会。[3] 2019年9月，高坑村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
