得名[edit]
浮塘本名大岸塘村。村子在河岸上，地势偏高，过去常年缺水，村民就在田里挖了许多池塘取水，故有此名；后来取镇名中的「浮」字，改作浮塘。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年为农会；1951至1957年称浮塘乡；1958年改大队；1984至1986年再称乡；1987至1989年称村，1989年后设管理区，1999年改为村民委员会。[3] 2017年10月，浮塘村获首批广东省卫生村称号；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
