新联村是兴宁市福兴街道下辖的行政村，位于街道西部，辖63个村民小组。村名来自人民公社时期两个大村“福联”和“新建”的合并。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

成立人民公社时，辖区内最大的两个村福联、新建合并，各取一字称新联。[1]新联最初是1958年的新联大队；1979年一度分作新联和福联两个大队，1983年再合并，改叫新联乡，1987年又称管理区。[1]

1937年的福兴乡政府曾设在村内的文亭（文昌帝庙），福兴之名即出自该庙门联。[2]

人口与荣誉[edit]

据博雅地名网，村内在册1139户、4464人，总面积4.5平方千米，耕地1200亩。[1]在广东省2018年开展的民主法治示范村（社区）创建中，新联村于2019年9月进入创建单位名单。[1]
